Open Door Shelter Cooling Center

The shelter will be used as a “cooling center” this summer. It will be open to anyone seeking shelter from the heat when temperatures reach 95 degrees or above in the afternoon and evening. Individuals are welcome to call the mission or stop in after 1:00PM to determine if it’s open to the public. Their normal hours of operation will not be affected by this change, and they will remain open every morning (other than Sunday) for the community to access services.

*Will help fill out and mail section 8 applications for clients
*Food Pantry Hours: *Mon, Wed, Thurs 2pm-5pm, Fri 9am-11am, Once every 2 weeks

*DOOR DASH Free local delivery of meals
How to get Door Dash from Open Door:

  1. Call the shelter.
  2. Tell that that you need Door Dash
  3. They will transfer you to: food services Tammy Lampkins x325 or Community Outreach Matthew Waddilove x105

*Individuals who are eligible:  Positive COVID, anyone getting services with DSS, anyone who is hungry and homeless, disabled persons
*Clients can get Door Dash ever 2 weeks (unless there is an exception)
*Delivery within an one 1/2 Hours
*Few days-1 week amount of food
