About altering your body to match your sexuality:  Therapy is not required for modifying your body’s gender.  Some insurance companies require a therapeutic letter of support.  Some insurances require that a person be on hormones 1-2 years before approving payment of top or bottom surgeries.  Planned Parenthood, some primary care doctors and an endocrinologist may prescribe hormones.  The Gender Wellness Center in Oneonta provides top surgeries, voice coaching and mental health services.  Many people travel to Syracuse or New York City for bottom surgeries.

To find best practices for providers and information for adolescents and children to receive gender affirming care (both mental health and medical) check out WPATH. They have a guideline for standards of care: https://www.wpath.org/media/cms/Documents/SOC v7/SOC V7_English2012.pdf?_t=1613669341
