“Just Being You is Enough”

By Bethany

But the world and your ego will tell you that you WILL be enough. Some day… Maybe when you stop making mistakes…. learn a new spiritual technique… Or lose weight… have a sweet ride…or gain the acceptance of a certain person… Well, the list will always go on and on. Once you do check off any of those things that you assumed would make you feel worthy, a new thing will appear.  You will never arrive at a place of: “Just Being Enough.”
At some point we need to choose to be happy and love ourselves. And what is UNCONDITIONAL self-love? It means when you fail or do something you are not proud of, you give yourself forgiveness, acceptance and understanding. And learn to do this quickly. Don’t wait until you finish that tub of Ben and Jerry’s (one more bite) put the spoon down (also the bag of chips).  Knee jerk reaction: Let the struggle go. Don’t be so hard on yourself.  Give everything that is heavy to your higher power.  You will be better able to be who you need to be if you surrender and be a positive person.  You are not perfect and that is ok because that is what makes you human and unique.
